Like Humans, Plants have an inbuilt immune system that is activated in response to attack by disease. In nature this enhanced immunity can be triggered by a number of stimuli for example by pathogens attacking a plant, also some beneficial microbes can switch on plants natural defences. Certain stresses are also often chronologically linked, a preceding stress may be a “warning” cue of upcoming future stress e.g. the presence of insect eggs on leaves is a pre-cursor to insect attack. By priming the plant before an attack happens the response is faster and more intense. Artal Immunological Activators activate or prime these self defence mechanisms.
